On his new single “Wild Style” the music carries on from where Swaz left us after his first studio album “Souled Out Volume One: Daze Gone Bye”. The sound is rooted in soulful boom bap with a progressive twist and features live instrumentation in the form of warm wah guitar notes from the song’s producer AO, funked out slap bass from Hugo Bladel, deftly placed scratches by DJ Dameza and a soaring trumpet solo from Jim Verrall (Lazer Baby, Baba Bruja). AO (who’s most recent production credit was for Denni’s single “Runaways” ft. Greeley) produced the song, with Callum Ball (Wombat, Promise & Dunn D) providing the finishing touches in the studio with Swaz.

Although this song pays homage to living amongst the wilderness of lutruwita (Tasmania) - particularly during this global pandemic era - it’s sentiments of finding peace away from the rush of the rat race daily grind and appreciating nature and friendship are relatable on a global scale. The anthemic chorus declares: “I need rugged scenery each day glimpsed! Amongst the lovely trees and the mateship!”, while the verses contrast “… living amongst the sewers and fumes” with seeking “… some peace in the place of the southerly breeze”.
